Abstract
In this paper, a new generalization of Devya distribution called as weighted Devya distribution (WDD) for modeling life-time data is introduced. This has been compared with one parameter Devya distribution. The statistical properties of this distribution have been derived and the model parameters are estimated by using the method of maximum likelihood estimation. Finally, real life-time data sets are fitted to this new distribution and the fit has been found to be good.
