A Modified Regression Estimator for Variance Estimation
Abstract
In this paper, an estimator of population variance is proposed using auxiliary information. The properties of the proposed estimator have been discussed. It is seen that under certain conditions, the suggested estimator is more efficient than existing estimators. The results are supported by numerical examples.
