A Systematic Review on Redundancy Techniques for Reliability Analysis of Repairable and Non-repairable Systems
Abstract
Here, the authors have made efforts to look into earlier investigations of redundancy methods used to assess the performance and dependability of industrial systems particularly the repairable systems. The study was also done on the effects of various failure rates, the make-up of the backup units, and the accessibility of maintenance experts. The study's main goal is to analyze uncharted territory in the standby systems sector, define a research agenda, and explore it. 110 studies published between 2010 and 2022 were gathered for this purpose from a variety of sources, including Google Scholar, Springer, Scopus, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, Emerald, Wiley, and Sage. Under a particular set of assumptions regarding the operation of redundant systems, the review clarifies many stochastic models. It points out areas where future study is needed to increase the dependability of redundant systems. The Markov process and semi-Markovian technique are two relatively efficient ways to assess the reliability of systems. And in this thorough survey, the authors made an effort to suggest potential future applications for these techniques for dependability assessments of industrial systems.
The current study conducts an organized examination of redundant repairable systems. The survey sheds light on the significance, outcomes, methods, and distributions taken into account in diverse industrial systems research.
