Application of Cube in Art: Analytical Study Based on Cubism (A geometrical based art movement of 20th century)
B S Gulia , Priyanka .
Abstract

The great role of application of geometry, ‘cubism’ was observed in the 14th to 17th period of renaissance especially in the artwork of Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) and in 20th century of Braque (1882-1963) who began painting considering geometrical application as technique and application of colors. The world famous artists Leonardo da Vinci (Renaissance) created the perspective in painting and figure study, foreshortening and modeling. The goal was to create solidity and volume on the surface in the medium of painting. In 20th century Picasso and George Braque represented real object with the three dimensional aspect on two dimensional surface mean conceptual realism rather than an optical. This paper is confined to highlight the concept of application of geometrical forms in art. The real creation of art forms brought a systematic and logical application towards creative ideas of the artist. The related features of the modern movement of 20th century in the art history and contribution of geometry as aesthetic values have been observed.
