Availability and Profit Analysis of Coking System of Steel Plant Using Supplementary Variable Technique
Sapna Saini , Jitender Kumar , M S Kadyan
Abstract
The motive of the current study is to deal with the profit analysis of the coking system of steel plant. The coking system consists of five subsystems: Larry Car, Coke Battery, Pusher Machine, Rail Car and Quenched. All these subsystems are connected in series and the subsystems- Larry Car, Pusher Machine, Rail Car and Quenched consisting of single unit. The subsystem Coke Battery contains two units: operative unit and cold standby unit. For all subsystems, the distribution of the failure time and of the repair time is exponential and arbitrary respectively. The supplementary variable technique has been used for analysis of the coking system. The availability and profit analysis of the cooking system has also been made for a particular case assuming exponential distribution.
