The article presents the historical contribution of the world renowned living legend of Statistics known by the name Professor CalyampudiRadhakrishnaRao   (C. R. Rao). Recently, the 100^th birthday of C.R. Rao was celebrated on 10^th September 2020 by the statistical community of almost all countries. Therefore, the main intension of the author is to highlight the research and teaching journey of this great statistician so that his contributions can be historically recognized. C.R. Rao’s recognition   in terms of linkage with academic associations and honours received are also described in order to aware the young researchers of statistics
