Construction of Complete Diallel Crossing System using Latin Square Designs
Abstract
Diallel crossing system is a source to enumerate quantitative inheritance for homozygous parental lines. Generally, such experiments are considered for highly inbred lines. Parents may be individuals, plants, animals etc. Purpose of this study is to introduce an easy and efficient method for construction of Complete Diallel Crosses (CDC). Here, we have adopted Latin Square Designs to construct complete diallel crossing system for v parental lines where v ≥ 4.The method is illustrated with suitable examples. The efficiency values of the constructed CDC plans are tabulated
