Critical Analysis of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of Manufacturing MSME
Abstract
Indian automotive and manufacturing industry has gone through significant changes in the last decade. Competition has increased dramatically. Customers focus on product quality, product delivery time and cost of product has significantly improved. Because of these, the organizations started paying attention to improving overall effectiveness. Aurangabad auto cluster is a hub of huge number of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), this study is carried out at one of the gear manufacturing industry. The aim of which is to study the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of the enterprise and the factors affecting OEE. The study involved failure data collection and analysis and failure frequency analysis using different quality tools. Many shortcomings found during the study were prioritized and suggestions were provided to improve the OEE of the industry.
