Anubhav Agrawal , Pramod Agarwal , Sharmili Das
Abstract

This paper describes the application of D-partition technique (plane parameter
synthesis) for designing Proportional Integral (PI) controller parameters for a reliable operationof power electronic converter based induction motor. Parameter plane synthesis method is usedto find the stable region in PI parameter plane. The system characteristic equations are built byperturbation along a stable operating point. The performance of the drive with designed PI iscompared with the PI parameters designed by Ziegler-Nichols method and Cohan-Coon method.
A 5.4 HP, 400V induction machine is driven by a three phase inverter simulated in
Matlab/Simulink environment. The theoretical investigations have been carried out for analyzingthe steady state and transient behavior of the proposed drive system.
