Improved Ratio-Type Estimators for Estimating Population Mean Using Information on Size of the Sample
Abstract
In the present paper, we have developed new ratio-type estimators using information on the size of the sample as a known auxiliary variable. The bias and mean square error of the newly proposed ratio-type estimators have been derived up to the first order of approximation. An empirical study has been carried out to show the performance of proposed estimators along with the existing estimators. It is observed that the proposed ratio- type estimators are more efficient than the competing estimators. For theoretical support a simulation study is also carried out using normal and exponential distribution.
