Online Privacy: A Study of National and International Law
Abstract
Right to privacy include in one of the basic human right and it is categorized as a first-generation right in the democratic world. In India privacy right is not directly defined in the constitution of the country. In present times the privacy has switched towards online privacy, as now the world has switched towards the online mode. The technology has changed the concept of privacy and resultantly the issues relating to online privacy has emerged as a most important facet of present times, the emergence of the concept of online privacy also witnessed increase in cyber-crimes, the challenge now is to protect the online privacy. For online privacy the need is for more surveillance, control and checks. The challenges before the modern world to protect online privacy are insufficient cyber laws, lack of awakening of the people and absence of platform. In the present paper, the issues related to provisions of online privacy, the concern before the present world and there solutions are discussed.
