Profit Analysis of a 1-out-of-2:GSystem with Priority to Repair and Conditional Failure of Service Facility
Anuradha , S. C Malik , P. C Jha
Abstract
Here,we analyze profit of a 1-out-of-2: G system with priority to repair and failure of service facility. The system has two identical units which are initially operative and one unit is required to be good for the proper functioning. The system undergoes for preventive maintenance with an arbitrary rate in order to restore the efficiency of the working units. A single service (repair) facility cares the preventive maintenance and repair of the units whenever desires. The service facility is subjected to failure during repair of the unit only and therefore, undergoes for treatment to resume the energy for carrying out the remaining repair activities. The provision of priority for repair of the unit has been made over the preventive maintenance. The well-known semi-Markov process and regenerative point technique are used to develop the system model under certain assumptions. The measures that are prone to assess the performance of the system have been discussed for arbitrary values of the rates which follow some arbitrary distributions including the negative exponential.  The system is analyzed in steady state and the graphs have been drawn to see the effect of different transition rates (failure rate, preventive maintenance rate, treatment rate, and repair rate) of the units on reliability measures and the profit.
