Reliability Evaluation of Independent and Identical Components by Standby Redundant Method
Maryam Mohiuddin , R. Kannan
Abstract
In this paper, we have studied the reliability of the independent and identical components, and their lifetimes are assumed to follow the Lindley distribution. The reliability function of the original system has been obtained. Different methods have been employed forthe improvement of system reliability, such as the reduction method, warm duplication, cold duplication, and cold standby method. Reliability equivalence factors have also been presented. A numerical example demonstrates the theoretical results obtained in the study and compares different improvement methods and reveals that the reliability of the improved system is better than the reliability of the original system.
