Reliability Modelling of M/Er/1/N Phase-Type Queueing System
S. R. Sruthi , P. R. Jayashree
Abstract
In this paper reliability modelling of phase type Erlangianqueueing system with finite capacity is discussed with failure and recovery rates. The arrivals can be the machines to be repaired and the arrival process is assumed to follow Poisson distribution. The service time distribution is assumed to follow Erlang distribution with FCFS discipline. Two different environmental states such as the Working state and Working-Breakdown state are taken into consideration for the multi-phase queueing model. The differential-difference equations for the transient state are obtained for M/Er/1 general case and for the special case of N=4 the results are shown numerically and graphically along with some special metrics values such as MTBF and MTTR. Sensitivity Analysis is also carried out for different parametric values to find the changes in the system with regard to Reliability, Availability and Maintainability.
