Selection & Development of 5KW Switched Reluctance Motor with Software Simulation
Abstract
Electrical vehicles are the alternative for an efficient, clean, and eco-friendly environment. Choosing an adequate motor rating based on the load to be carried is a crucial issue. In this paper, we have compared existing motors present in market for electric vehicle or E-rickshaw. The comparison of the given motor with different three-wheeler Diesel/CNG/Petrol rickshaw available in Indian market has been made. The study of the motor's in the way like maximum output and efficiency as well as a general overview of the selection of a 5 KW motor and design of an effective SRM configuration for e-rickshaws is carried out. The mathematical calculations of 5KW 8/6 poles motor design has been made using finite element method and software simulation. This design is made using the Ansys Maxwell Rmxpt tool as per the required characteristics.
