Abstract
This paper deals with the problem of random non-response in estimating the mean of a finite population. It is recognized that the random non-response may occur either on study variable or on both study and auxiliary variables. The presence of random non-response on the variables certainly influences the precision of the estimates. The present study aims to sort out the problem of random non-response by suggesting some families of estimators in estimation of population mean. A detailed discussion has been presented regarding the properties of the suggested families of estimators. An empirical study has also been performed in support of the theoretical outcomes.
